Rozzano District heating

The smoke exhaust system for the "CENTRAL DISTRICT OF ROZZANO CT1" is a brand new, complete and complex example of a project designed by Camini Wierer. The system was fully designed and manufactured by our company for the buyer, which has been made available with full assistance at installation phase. This is a multiple system that includes chimneys and smoke ducts to the respective service of four boilers for the thermal power plant, plus two chimneys and relative smoke ducts for their motor generators. Of the four chimneys of the thermal power plant: - one is working for the gas boiler/diesel oil with three smoke passes of useful power equivalent to 13,800 kW, has a nominal internal diameter of 1,200 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; - one is working for the gas boiler/diesel oil with three smoke passes of useful power equivalent to 11,200 kW, has a nominal internal diameter of 1,100 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; - one is working for the gas boiler/diesel oil with three smoke passes of useful power equivalent to 7,800 kW, has a nominal internal diameter of 900 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; - one is working for the gas boiler/diesel oil with three smoke passes of useful power equivalent to 2,100 kW, has a nominal internal diameter of 500 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; Of the two chimneys of the cogeneration power plant: - one is working for the gas cogeneration unit of useful power equivalent to 3,044 kWe-3,119 kWt, has a nominal internal diameter of 900 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; - one is working for the gas cogeneration unit of useful power equivalent to 1,416 kWe - 1,505 kWt, has a nominal internal diameter of 550 mm and grows to a height of 21.00 m from the floor of the thermal power plant; For all generators (both for boilers and power generators) the LI types materials of vertical chimney is composed of an internal supporting structure of adequate thickness made of stainless steel AISI 316 L, into three sections joined together by flange and counter flange, fastened together by bolts and nuts in stainless steel, designed specifically for the structural features foreseen in the project, i.e. with all the vertical chimneys contained in an ellipse metal containment structure, suitable for only chimneys constraint with horizontal loads and not designed to support vertical loads. The internal insulation between the walls is in basaltic high density mineral wool (110 kg/m3) with double-reinforced aluminium layer. The visible external wall is in austenitic stainless steel AISI 304 with semi-gloss finish and of adequate thickness to the diameter of the various chimneys. The same type of material has also been used for the construction and composition of the smoke ducts both from the two cogeneration motors (internal diameter 550 mm and 900 mm) and for the two boilers of greater power (internal diameter of 1100 mm and 1200 mm). In contrast to the rest of the system, the smoke ducts connection between the vertical chimneys and the boilers of less power (internal diameter 500 mm and 900 mm) were instead carried out with the Conix ® JH modular elements E NGINEERING CAMINI WIERER Pagina 39 system with a standard finish for our production use, which results in shiny stainless steel AISI 316 L for the inner wall in contact with the combustion products and semi-gloss stainless steel AISI 304 for the external wall. In this type of product, the joining of the inner wall is characterised by a suitable fastening strap which allows the correct assembly and guarantees a perfect seal, whether mechanical, both for smoke and for possible condensation formation. Lastly, as foreseen from the existing regulation in force in the Lombardy Region, in the vertical part of the chimney and at a suitable height, logs of approximately 2 1/2 inches with DN65 PN6 UNi flange for testing and sampling of smokes from the Ente Arpa Lombardia, on the basis of the standard UNi 10169-2001 were prepared. The system design has meant a constant collaboration, both with the designer of the building works and with the manufacturer of the chimneys metal containment structure, which were defined with varied fastening systems.
